An ancient youth hostel, once a site of charitable endeavors providing hospitality to the less fortunate who ventured into the city seeking a better future. The building boasts typical Baroque charm, reimagined with a modern approach by a brilliant team of architects. Initially, space constraints posed challenges for both rooms and corridors along the south and north wings. Eventually, after obtaining permission from the Fine Arts Authority, both corridors were enclosed in a metal and glass cage, creating an internal space where a terrace once existed.
Additionally, the closure of the cloister corridor featured upper lunettes within the arch span, each uniquely designed. Precision craftsmanship is evident in these bespoke elements. The lower fixed and operable frames are positioned behind the columns, allowing them to move along the corridor. The entire ground floor is constructed with thermally broken painted galvanized steel.
