This unfinished Juvarrian masterpiece was in a state of deterioration when Architect Andrea Bruno began the restoration project. Pedro joined the project from the beginning, embodying values that aimed for high standards in technology while maintaining an artisanal approach (women and men and hard work), perfectly aligned with the restoration principles.
The result was a collection of carefully crafted and tailored additions. This includes the Sporto Panoramico, an outstanding structure in glass and stainless steel; a suspended boardwalk allowing a stroll above the ancient vault; and a stairway to the upper floors intentionally unconnected to the walls, reflecting the belief that nothing lasts forever and everything should be removable.
Material research played a crucial role, choosing stainless steel for its strength and brass for its ability to age proudly, changing year after year yet retaining its beauty. Examples include the Manica Lunga's impressive line of brass windows and doors, the terrace bench above the restaurant, and the masterpiece of the Theater Cupola, meticulously assembled piece by piece, akin to a tailor's craftsmanship.
